    So wrong. Booties with tights: acceptable. But not with socks! Never with socks! Next think you know, they'll be selling those socks with the lace trim that you fold over and wore with your easter dress when you were 4. What a mess.

    I too saw the Brynn dress and was thinking what the h*ll is up with the purple socks! Sheesh it takes me back to my 1st grade days when my mom use to match my socks to my outfits.
    I have the Augusta's in apricot and I love them!

    I know! I feel like this regression back to the 80's is sucking my will to live. I've been through it all once and have the unfortunate pictures to prove it. I don't want to re-live it again! It was awful the first time! Cripes!

    I'm happy to hear you like the Augusta's. I ordered them in Apricot, too. I love J Crew's shoes, they're (almost) always so pretty and lovely looking.

    Um, I would like to point out that there are basically NO new arrivals for us Petites! WTF. I like to wear cute clothes too J.Crew! I have the same 7 boring blouses to choose from (nevermind the fact that I already own 3 of them...hmm) and all the "cute" new stuff is available only in their regular sizes. I'm feeling a bit left out a jaded over this. Boo.

    Oh, and the model's shoes. Yeah, I was staring at those too! What the heck is going on!? But the dress is super darling (and yes, us redhead can rock us some purple!)

    Yeah, you know...I think they tend to offer less petites in the winter because they think you'll be wearing heels or boots with everything? I know at one point I had it all worked out in my head but now I can't remember which way it works- is it spring or winter that we wear more heels?

    This is what happens when you wear heels year round AND YOU'RE SHORT THANKS A LOT, J CREW.

    I know. The whole look makes me not like the dress. It's burned an awful image into my brain that I simply cannot erase now. You've ruined it, J Crew. RUINED IT!

    LOL, you're hilarious Chloe. I agree...I was willing to forgive J.Crew for the socks + heels thing going on all over the fall lookbook, but those at least looked...somewhat...cute. But socks + booties? And more than that, grey booties with short lavender socks?? Gag me.

    I wasn't feeling too many of the new arrivals, but I do like the new heather hydrangea color. Purty.

    I'm glad I could inspire you to get the Augustas! Now we can be shoe twins :)

    The purples are awfully pretty, I agree. I was excited to see that color after the muted and anemic colors J Crew pushed this summer.

    The Augustas are so pretty. I was thinking, "Do I really need them?" (no) but I closed my eyes and immediately had 100 different outfits in my head to wear them with. Sold!

    Love the dress but I look heinous in lavender (eggplant is much more my purple color!) and WTF booties? They are a tragedy, really - a festering pustule on the ass of the Fall Preview. I'm holding off until the inevitable free shipping code comes my way in 3 weeks but I did score a blush metallic skinny belt + another large, obnoxious bauble cocktail ring this morning that were on Summer Sale + Extra 20% off! Woo hoo, accessories!

    I can't stand the fuzzy skirts/vests, either. Don't know if you've seen those yet but they make me throw up in my mouth a little. This is good. Cut hours means I need to cut my spending, and it's good to know that at least J Crew won't be tempting me this fall and winter.

    Ms. Lepore, on the other hand... *cries*

    No. NO NO NO NO NO.
    First of all, I already hate booties (sorry) but the booties with visible socks reminds me of the fake suede Wal-Mart booties that the girls wore in first grade with the little fold over socks under them.

    And with that dress...? 100 times worse.

    And I am not looking at the new arrivals. I'm going to be good. I'm going to grad school. I will not spend my tuition on clothes.
    (I'll just keep telling myself this.)
